The Sydney Kings are no more, their license was revoked last night after the club failed to make player payments. One of the biggest clubs in the NBL its a pretty sad day.

Looks like Goorj, Smith and Wortho made the right decision though

Read this morning, not a huge surprise. Actually I lie - it's a surprise they lasted as long as they did. The first whispers that the Kings were in dire need of rescue was months ago...

The NBL administration are a disgrace. It will never get back to the glory days of the late 80s and early 90s again. Ever.

The NBL as we know it could be dead.

The standard hasn't dropped at all, it's just the way the game has been run. Now that they have lost their TV deal with Foxtel, they are in even more strife. Watching news, reading newspapers etc. it is hard enough normally to keep track of what's going on. This will just drive it more underground.

The sport needs a new approach. There are enough people who enjoy the game, but you can't expect them to go out of their way for it like they currently do.

Good. I know of a bloke who is a Kings fan that will be shattered about it and since I hate him, HA HA!

However, its a shame that things are going downhill when in the past 2 or 3 years I thought the standard had picked up again.

Not great news for the NBL, admin seriously need to overhaul the whole competition. We cann't have these clubs with a great history falling over like this, Brisbane could be the next to go.
