What do you guys think about the Storm defeat in Gold Caost yesterday? I think it's completely unfair they have to play with 9 players with Origin duties. I think this stupid system of the byes penalizes best teams and benefits crappy teams. Why do the Dragons have to play without Gaz and Matt Cooper? Why do the Storm have to play without Smith, Folau, Inglis, Copper Cronk and you name the rest.

I think the public wants to see a fair contest and the public was penalised too. Titans against Storm in full shape and with all available would have been a BlockBuster contest. It wasn't. It wass more Titans against a bunch of young and willing to do well guys. But not enough.

With all the bye rounds teams have to respect, wouldn't it be better to stop the competition for 3 weeks when the SOO is on? They could play the State of Origin on the weekend (with more audience and public too) and all the players would be at their best shape when it's time to play the best footy.

The Storm yesterday were like the Bulldogs without Griffen, Cooney, Minson, Hahn, Lake, Cross and that guy with blonde hair who amazes the crowds named Akermanis. The Storm yesterday played against a team which could be considered like Brisbane, it's one of the top teams this year.

I don't think it's fair!

Against Dragons we were missing 9 players and our coach, this time it was 10 players and a coach!

Queensland: Billy Slater, Greg Inglis, Israel Folau, Cameron Smith, Michael Crocker and Dallas Johnson.

New South Wales: Steeeeeevie Turner, Brett White, Ryan Hoffman and coach Craig Bellamy.

I can see both arguments and I actually dont mind playing the games like this, a few years back no-one was complaining when we only had a few guys playing.
It gives us a chance to see how the younger guys go in handling a tougher competition and how far off they are from playing 1st grade. Especially for those people who dont make the effort to watch the under 20's matches

just shows how different rugby is to AFL - I would not want 10 of the best Doggies players missing a game in order to play state of origin.
