|
The Williamstown Football Club would like to celebrate “Football Community Weekend” by inviting football followers to attend the 150 year Anniversary of Australian Rules Football match between Williamstown and Sandringham on Sunday May 11th at Williamstown (Pt Gellibrand Oval- Morris Street, Williamstown)(Melways Map 56 D12).
In appreciation of the great support Williamstown receive from the community it will be FREE Admission on the day to all spectators. We encourage all sectors of the Community to attend and celebrate the great game we all love so much – Australian Rules Football.
Williamstown General Manager Brendan Curry said “The club has never thrown their gates open before but this free day will allow many new people to experience high quality VFL football on a weekend when there are no AFL matches”.
The FREE Admission status of the game is courtesy of the generosity of the Williamstown Football Club Major Sponsor Hocking Stuart (Williamstown) and particularly Director Joanne Royston and her team. Hocking Stuart (Williamstown) place a large emphasis on supporting the local community and see the widespread benefits of encouraging the people of the area to support their local football club.
The Reserve Grade game will commence at 11.10am followed by the Seniors at 2.00pm.

Hopefully they get a big crowd down there for this one. Particularly from the greater Williamstown residents. _________________ "It would be great to be playing in finals and in teams that are winning all the time, but I chose to come to Richmond" - Nathan G. Brown |

Was bloody freezing there today, Cal Ward was awesome, so was Peter Street, skip looks very very big in the willy jumper, kicked two great goals in the 3rd qtr was it?
One of the willytown players that made me a very happy girl was Scott Meyer, kept Nick Sautner to only 2 goals, cant stand that guy so was very havppy he had no influence on the game. |
