Venue: Burbank Oval, Williamstown
Seniors: 2.00pm start
Reserves: 11.10am start

B: Ray ~ Meyer ~ Cloke
HB: Ward ~ McDougall ~ Picken
C: Stretton ~ Bre. Johnson ~ Williams
HF: Tiller ~ Urch ~ Everitt
F: Skipper ~ Grant ~ O'Keefe
R: Street ~ Rose ~ Jolley
Int: Greene ~ Keddell ~ McKenzie ~ Little ~ Stack ~ Beaumont ~ Galea ~ Lockwood

Williamstown Football Club is hoping all fans can make it for what promises to be a cracker of a match - the 2 teams are currently 1st and 2nd on the VFL ladder.

North Ballarat started their season in emphatic style with a 70-point win at home over Box Hill, followed up by an equally impressive 52-point win over country rivals Bendigo in round 2. They then took their show on the road to Coburg where they managed to pip the home side by 1 point, with a goal after the siren from Orren Stephenson.

Now the Roosters travel to Burbank Oval to face Williamstown, as the VFL's two early pacesetters square off in a contest that could be a form guide to the 2008 finals series.

For North Ballarat, North Melbourne rookie-listed player Michael Wundke (8 goals up to round 3) along with Jacob Spolding (5 goals) have been good up forward, while Kangaroos semi-regular Leigh Harding booted 4 goals last week against Coburg. In the middle, Brett Goodes, brother of Sydney star Adam, has been getting plenty of the ball.

Williamstown will be looking to consolidate their terrific early season form with a win against the only undefeated team in the comp.

The return?

Did you know that both Ray and Everitt played last week?

Great to see Williams getting his first taste of footy this year, hopefully Grant keeps on improving with some more goals this week.

Didn't mean "return" as in it being their first game back, but return as in seeing them in person for the first time this year.

It's about time they stepped up and started pulling their weight. Most games so far have been dominated by the Williamstown listed players.

Good to see Faz Ray up there. Good work by O'Keefe again.

Will be interested to hear Dale61's thoughts on this game.

Mate, it's a bit difficult for me to get to Williamstown games, as I no longer drive (due to a vision problem), and the fact I now live in Geelong.

However, here's something you might be interested in:
Quote:
A couple of highlights (in the reserves game) was a ruck tap from Bulldogs rookie James Mulligan that went about 20m, Malcolm Lynch ran onto it and goaled from fifty. It was text book play. Matthew Little was dominant up forward. Bad news of the day was Paul O'Shea knocking himself out after flying for a mark, the game stopped for about 7 minutes and an ambulance arrived a short time later - hopefully all is OK with him.

No problems. Not a good sign for Paul. Fingers crossed all is OK.
