Wow, surprised this one hasn't come up yet... Bazza's vicious attack on Staker during Sat night's Swans V Eagles. Staker was pretty blah after it and looking at some half time footage between Roos and Hall, Bazza looked pretty shell-shocked too.
Looks to be in lots of trouble. Head high contact for one should cost him 4 weeks minimum. Can't say the karma train didn't mow him down when he hit that fence and hurt his wrist and head.
Gutless human being.
Will be interesting to see how the MRP/Tribunal will handle this as well as the multitude of other reports from Round 4. _________________ WWW.SONSOFTHESCRAY.COM |

Was a gutless thing to do, hes a good player Barry Hall, but imo he will be remembered as a thug, there is no room in footy for what he did, and in the tribunal had any balls at all they would suspend him for 8-12 weeks, he'll will probably be out for a few weeks anyway with the wrist, but they should really send the message to other players and kids growing up that there is no room for this.
I couldnt care less if he hit a west coast player, i wouldnt have cared if he hit my most hated player in the afl(Jeff Farmer) id be saying the exact same thing.
As i said earlier it was a gutless thing to do, and he should be ashamed of himself, and that press confrence he did was an absolute joke, he should never have done that, probably did that in the hope the tribunal would go a bit softer on him, and they probably will now. |

What a great punch though. Credit where credit is due.
Hope he gets more than 6.5 weeks because I have money on it _________________ "It would be great to be playing in finals and in teams that are winning all the time, but I chose to come to Richmond" - Nathan G. Brown |

6 weeks, makes no difference anyway, as he'll miss that time with the broken wrist - NO THAT IS KARMA, getting injured like that.
Was it that great a punch? he wacked a player half his weight, and someone that wouldn't be used to copping blows like that.
He's been a weak dog ever since he put down Chris Grant behind play that time, and is still a weak dog.
Great to see Beau Waters fly the flag. _________________

| the question that everyone is asking is weather or not the west coast player should press charges - which to me is a little stupid you go on to the ground knowing full well that you could get injured anyway possible point taken you don't expect to be king hit in the modern game of football and it was a low act but does it grant police action? i don't think so.... |

I don't think that Staker pressing charges is silly, just because he and Hall weren't out on the street doesn't permit a human to that treatment and it's an act of assult.
If Staker had have managed to get up and get his own back, this might be a different discussion. But at this stage, Hall has committed a violent act and should be at least dealt with appropriately by the MRP/Tribunal over the next 24 hours.
Brain fart or not, Barry could be in all kinds of trouble. Make an example out of him. That behaviour on and off the field is unnaceptable. Sets a terrible example for for all and especially junior footy. _________________ WWW.SONSOFTHESCRAY.COM |

Once a thug, always a thug. There is no place in professional sport for this kind of act, and the AFL must "throw the book" at him.
He has already ended 1 player's career with a king hit about 10 years ago (North Melbourne ressies player Sam McFarlane). If Staker's career if affected in any way he should definitely bring civil charges against the thug. |

Depending on the actions, off course you could take action against a player, if they go out and deliberately cause damage to another player, there is no reason why you can't press charges. [this is their lively hood, this is not just a sport, but a business].
Brendon Krumell [sp?] for Hawthorn was taken out by Byron Pickett years ago on a footy field in a deliberate act, and NEVER played again, and would have had every right to have Pickett charged with assault.
Alot of us remember Leigh Matthews cowardly strike on Neville Bruns for Geelong, completely shattered his jaw.
As for Staker, he can be thankful that Barry Halls punch was WEAK and caused minimal damage, if it was a good punch, Staker would be eating out of a straw for the next few month's, and most definatly looking at pressing charges. _________________

Excellent pick up, there's a write up in tomorrows paper featuring Sam coming forward and saying he wasn't surprised Barry struck again, as Barry ended his career breaking his jaw badly. _________________

He will always be a thug.
Should get 6 - 8 but it should start AFTER his wrist heals - effectively would put him out for the rest of the season.
Probably won't happen though.
Scum bag of the highest degree. Put him in the same category as Leigh Matthews. _________________ My Blood runs Red,White & Blue |

Bazza probably won't get to Tribunal tonight after surgery on his karmic broken wrist. Surgery + flight = bad. _________________ WWW.SONSOFTHESCRAY.COM |

Should get off.
Change the rules so you can king hit people but a retaliating party cannot be punished. Need more violence. _________________

How long before the Prime Minister comes out and makes a statement about it?! Seems like everybody and their dog has come out and had something to say about Big Bad Bustling Barry Hall. _________________ 2009... new year, same dream... Bulldogs for the flag! |
