Ciao gang,
I am Italian so I am unfortunately passionate with soccer and I need to know if someone of you would want to talk about it...
Well, I am 100% Black and White (Juventus) and it seems to be a good year. Out of European Cup, we could totally concentrate on the Serie A. With great results. I am sure we'll make it for the Champions League, because it's bloody time to lift 'The Cup with Ears' up!!

JUVENTUS PEZZA DI MERDA!
I rarely get to see the matches on TV but have been a fan of Lazio in the past because of Paolo Di CAnio, EVEN IF HE IS A FASCIST PRICK.
My mate recently reurned from italy where he met some Juve players at training etc, said it was an awesome experience to see them play.

I am a casual follower. Don't get to watch many games but take note of the scores and standings. I don't really have a team that I follow but I probably favour Milan, Torino and Napoli.
Sorry but can't feel a thing for Juve

Very passionate Chievo supporter here, love the club to death.
Still think we will gain automatic promotion from B, and hopefully another solid year back in A.
Glad to see Verona merda looking so bad, C2 next year would be a dream come true

I do follow Italian soccer and I've had the opportunity to watch several Italian teams live, when they come to Portugal to play against "my" Sporting Lisbon in European Competitions. I watched the Sporting - Roma game this season and last season's 1-0 win against Inter and several other games (against Milan, for one). I have also watched Portugal v. Italy matches live. Portuguese TV also shows Italian League matches, usually at least 2 every weekend.
Oddly, I like both Juventus and Torino (which is like barracking for Carlton and Collingwood at the same time), because my dad used to work for the Portuguese branch of an Italian company that sponsored both clubs. When I was a kid I used to run around in a nr. 10/ Platini Juventus shirt. Still have it, doesn't fit me anymore, though.
I went to Italy on holiday in 2006, when everybody was ecstatic about the world cup win. In Florence they were also ecstatic about Juventus being relegated for match-fixing. Florentines can't stand Juve. You would overhear remarks like "sai dov'è finita la Juve?" (do you know what happened to Juventus?) and you could buy "lucky Luciano" t-shirts that depicted "master game-fixer" Moggi as the Godfather. Juve has since come clean, though, spent their "year in hell" and are back in serie A.
I also liked Naples very much. A run-down, shabby, chaotic city, but filled with ancient beauty - uncannily like Lisbon. Also, you can't escape the city's devotion to Napoli. Everywhere you went you found graffiti, Maradona figurines, shrines to Maradona, flags, even "striscioni", the cloth banners with mottos/ messages written on them that usually belong in the stadium.
I too have a soft spot for Chievo. When they first were promoted to Serie A the suburb of Chievo had 2400 inhabitants, yet they managed to hang on for a few years and could be on their way back. Also don't like Verona - fascist bastards!

Please Di Canio is a fascist idiot, he is really an idiot. good player, but damn idiot. Lazio is also supported by fascist fans, not a great team really! |

It's ok if you don't feel a thing for Juventus...but you can't really go for Milan. I understand Torino, they had a great team before the Second World War. I could understand Napoli with all the glory they gain in the '80 with Diego Armando.
But Milan is really really bad. Please!!! |

Good on you, Chievo is and was a great team. They managed to stay for several weeks on the top of the Serie A when Del Neri was there. I hate Verona too, so I basically agree with you. I didn't know they got relegated in C2, really? |

Can we talk about something else? Florentines can't stand Juventus and I can't stand Florentines. All my respect to Chievo for its brilliant efforts, especially when Del Neri was in charge.
I understand your passion with Napoli, but Diego Armando was a bit say silly (I can't use any ruder word here) and maged to ruin everything good he had done. It's a pity, such a good player, I don't know. His left foot was the best foot in the World at the time. Don't really understand how you can like both Torino and Juventus, a bit weird. But I have always respected Torino, a glorious team which can boast great success in its early days. |

Noted, I probably would fit in with Livorno fans much more. But as a kid Di Canio had me mesmerised with his skill at West Ham etc and I took an interest in in the club.

Luca, congrats on Juventus' 2-1 win against Inter at the San Siro. Juve played very well, but things nearly came unstuck... A good win, nevertheless, and perhaps a measure of revenge for the "stolen scudetto" of 2006.

Watched Torino vs. Milan on the weekend. Very entertaining game although Milan were very ordinary. Milan scored a very scrappy goal to win 1-0 but Torino probably had the better chances, especially late in the game when Recoba came on.
