Matt Little bags 7 goals yet can't sneak into the best players - strange.

Good to see Easten Wood kicking a few goals as well.

However, here's something you might be interested in:
A couple of highlights (in the reserves game) was a ruck tap from Bulldogs rookie James Mulligan that went about 20m, Malcolm Lynch ran onto it and goaled from fifty. It was text book play. Matthew Little was dominant up forward. Bad news of the day was Paul O'Shea knocking himself out after flying for a mark, the game stopped for about 7 minutes and an ambulance arrived a short time later - hopefully all is OK with him.

Seagulls hand Roosters first loss

Carley Jellett | April 28, 2008

WILLIAMSTOWN has handed North Ballarat its first defeat of the season, beating the Roosters by 17 points in a top-of-the-table clash at Burbank Oval yesterday.

As expected from the two top sides, the match was a tight contest from the first bounce.

Seagulls coach Bradley Gotch said he was happy to beat the undefeated Roosters but lamented his side's missed opportunities in front of goal: "In the third quarter we kicked three (goals and) nine (points and), we hit the post three times," he said. "It would have been nice … to put a bigger gap in it at three-quarter-time. To North Ballarat's credit, they kept coming at us all day. I thought they played pretty good footy."

Williamstown's big forwards were prominent with Dean Galea, Wayde Skipper, Jarrad Grant and Callan Ward kicking 11 goals between them. Guy O'Keefe was one of the Seagulls' best with three goals.

Western Bulldogs player Farren Ray continued his return to football after missing nine weeks with a broken leg. He was among the best for the Seagulls.

"That is his second game back now and he played the majority of the game," Gotch said. "With a game of over 20 possessions playing off half-back flank … he'd be pretty excited about that performance and he would only keep building over the coming weeks."

Ray's Bulldog teammate Andrejs Everitt had limited game time yesterday. Gotch said the club is easing him back into football after a knee injury.

Earlier in the day, Bulldogs-listed player Paul O'Shea was taken off the field on a stretcher after falling heavily in a marking contest in the reserves match. The 19-year-old was taken to hospital but the club said after the match he was fine.

Good to hear he's ok and the bulldogs players seem to be doing well too, looks like this has been a fairly smooth transition to the new club partnership. Hopefully the good form continues for the whole season
