North Melbourne listed players for Werribee
Seniors 13.Adams- an improved performance after being a bit quiet against Box Hill in the final practice match. Was used in the midfield and on the wing, laid some some super tackles all over the ground. Had 22 disposals, 3 clearances, 5 tackles and a spoil.
15.Ross- super midfield performance with 28 disposals, 5 clearances, 5 tackles, a block and a spoil. Ran all night as he provided plenty of drive through the middle and helped to set up some goals.
29.Goldstein- shared the ruck duties with new Werribee recruit Dickson and dominated with 30 hit-outs compared to a combined total of just 18 for Bendigo's ruck division. Got some of the ball as well with 17 disposals and a goal.
30.Greenwood- had a serviceable performance with 23 disposals in a midfield role and as usual, his defensive pressure (3 trackles, 2 spoils) was great.
33.Wright- kicked two goals in a serviceable performance as a half-forward on VFL debut. Spent time on the bench a Pask and Thompson ran rings around the Bendigo defence.
34.Grima- played at full back and did a superb job in restricting the Bendigo forward, with none of them kicking more than 2 goals each. Defensive pressure was superb in his first VFL home and away season game since 2006. Finished with 18 disposals, a tackle, a block and 2 spoils.
39.Delaney- may have only had 9 disposals but looked good in defence at different stages during the game.
40.Obst- played down back and spent time pinch hitting in the ruck at boundary throw ins. I thought that he was good in patches, but was impressed me most was his defensive efforts. Had 20 disposals, 5 hit-outs and 3 tackles.
66.Harris- another consistent midfield performance as he didn't give up at any stage. Had 21 disposals, 4 clearances, 5 tackles and 2 blocks but couldn't manage to snaffle a goal. I don't think it will be long before he is back in the AFL side.
Reserves 31.Riggio- played a half to get some game time and run in the legs as he returned from injury. Looked good during his time in the midfield. Finished with 9 disposals, 4 tackles and 2 spoils. It would most likely that either he plays a full game in the reserves or is straight back into the senior line up for our game against Williamstown next week.
47.Meredith- was rotated on and off the bench, played in defence and was good through the game. Helped set up the odd goal and continues to show improvement in his skills. Had 11 disposals and laid a tackle.
48.O'Keefe- played forward and looked a good prospect with 2 goals working in tandem with small forward Mather (6 goals). Finished with 16 disposals, 3 marks and a tackle.
