All right lads and ladettes, it's that time of year again for the Dogs B&F. Few of us here will be getting decked out for the evening. This is the thread for predictions, stories and the like. Westy has retired so will expect a special tribute to him, as it should be. Lots of alcohol, gorgeous boys in suits and the girls looking lovely in their frocks. Pix of shenanigans to ensue I'd say. Should be a great night on Tuesday at The Palladium at Crown! I'm thinking it'll be a tussle between Boydy, Crossy and Daaale with my heart obviously saying Daaale and head thinking Boydy. I think he may pip Crossy just at the line. But I'm terrible at actually getting things like this right so it'll probably be Crossy hehe While Coon has had a great year and a Brownlow to prove it, I think Boyd, Cross and Morris were continuously good for us. Am I on my own here? Probably... hehe :drink: :dance: :clap:

Yeah im going for Coons, with Crossy 2nd and Boydy 3rd, shaggy will be right up there and so will superman(brian lake/harris). Best 1st yr has to be Callan ward, since the only other player to play a game was Sam reid. Most improved....mmm im not sure about this one, im really hoping its Will cause i think hes had a pretty good season. Im actually really looking 4ward to the night, hope to let my hair down after a tough year, have the week off work as well, so thats even better.

ill be there again this year - will make it my 8th WOO HOO lol yeah i think cross may just win... but as for best first year player im going with josh hill... i know it isn't his first year at the club but its first year playing juat about every game and it has been like that before... should be a great night who ever wins and a emotional one too

Cooney has incentives in his contract for winning both the Brownlow and the Charlie Sutton so it will be interesting if he wins. May just mean we can't afford to buy an experienced KPP...

We have also lost the likes of Westy, Granty & Darce in the past few seasons, which should free up quite a bit of the cap. From all reports we could have afforded Fev with his $800,000 per season asking price, but Rocket didn't think he deserved it, baulked at his price and didn't want to give up the pick 5. Remember also, we have to use up the salary cap somewhere. Would we REALLY be trying to get a key forward at Fev's value this season? I doubt Barry Hall would be on that big a contract at his age.

West and Grant were on the veterans list so therefore 50% of their contract was outside of the cap. I think Granty was on a one year contract before he retired so he would've been on lesser money one would think. I hope they were on a big pay packet but I am not so sure. If the $800,000 Fev report is true then we are laughing. My understanding is that Kozitschke (sp?) is on half that at St Kilda so we could really get two very solid forwards for the same figure.
