WESTERN Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade falls out of contract next season, but is in no rush to begin negotiations.

Eade lifted the Dogs to within five goals of a Grand Final berth, but has not yet been rewarded with an extension.

Both parties are happy to wait while the club focuses on other off-field issues, such as securing a sponsor.

"Let it flow," Eade said. "When it's the right time that's fine. I'm certainly enjoying my time here, they're a great group to coach and the club is fantastic. Those sorts of things will be talked about in time."

Other coaches coming out of contract at the end of next year are Dean Laidley, Terry Wallace, Mark Williams and John Worsfold.

Eade, who last week returned from a training camp in Arizona, said he could sense a hunger for success within the group.

"I think it's a bit of a different mentality," he said.

"In 2006, it was like, even that final we got smashed in, it was like a sense of achievement. Whereas this last final there was the sort of mentality of unfinished business and you can see in the way the players responded and you can see that they're going at it really hard."

Eade said Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney, Robert Murphy and Brian Lake were all making steady progress with injuries.

Cooney has started running after cracking his kneecap while Murphy (leg) will resume running next month and Lake (hip) is set to be back in full training after Christmas.
