Here's what I didn't get: why pick on the Dogs? There has been a Footscray Football Club since the 19th century. The club has represented the community ever since then, "through thick and thin". I bet it's one of the oldest institutions in Melbourne's West and (of this I'm sure) it's ancient for a sports club. Most clubs, in any sport, aren't as old.
Also, the Greens' actions don't seem to make political sense. Why aggravate and alienate your voters?! I'm glad it all turned out well...
