I don't blame the Sainters for wanting Cordy, imagine having 2 quality rucks to develop in McEvoy and Cordy.
Most recruiters rate Cordy as a first rounder, some even go to say he's a top 5 - 10 prospect!
So for pick 14, we are getting a gem.

A gem with just skin & bones at this stage, had him on the 10 sport news at the draft camp, he knows he's going to the Dogs so he's quite relaxed, but boy, i thought Rob Murphy was skinny when he first arrived at Whitten Oval..
:wtf:

Dogfight brewing for Ayce in the pack
The Western Bulldogs should prepare to sacrifice an early pick in the November 29 draft if the club is keen to secure the services of 202cm ruckman Ayce Cordy at the father-son selection meeting on Monday. Cordy, 18, attracted plenty of attention from rival clubs on Wednesday which, courtesy of the revamped father-son bidding system, means the Doggies will more than likely have to give up a second or even first-round pick to claim the talented big man.
The views in this story are those of the author and not necessarily those of the AFL or its clubs.
So basically we have said that no matter what we will take him. Well that's just great. Another club will surely place a first round bid on him now. Any chance of us getting him with a second rounder just went out the window with that article.

We never would have anyway.

Clubs don't need Rocket to come out & say that to know how high Cordy is rated!
Matthew Drain knows very well, would have watched him last year when Cordy spent time last pre season on the track, thus the reason why Drain & the Saints will bid for his services with pick 13.
It's like if Geelong came out a few years back and said they're not sure about Tom Hawkins, pffft yeah right! Clubs aren't stupid.

Clubs aren't stupid.
Except Freo!!!!
:rofl

Why are the Saints the only one bidding on him if he is a clear cut top 10 pick?
The club could tell Ayce behind closed doors that they are picking him up no matter what and then publicly state they will only bid their second rounder.
Would make the Saints at least think about it before bidding their first rounder.

Adelaide was the other team mentioned with the Saints taking a keen interest, i have also heard about 3 or 4 other experts rate him as a first round pick, was either Freo or West Coast who rated him a top 5.
Recruiters watch these kids for 4 or 5 years, they won't make a decision based on Rockets comments i would have thought!

When West Coast are looking at him, you know he's the goods. They have an exceptional recruiting record.
